Remodeling a home in the DC area is different from remodeling in a sunbelt suburb. The houses are older, the lots are tighter, the HOA rules are stricter, and the cost of doing it twice is high. Dzala General Contractor has spent 10+ years working through exactly those constraints across Falls Church, McLean, Arlington, and the Maryland suburbs.

We handle every phase in-house: architectural design, permits, demolition, framing, MEP coordination, tile and finish work. That means one contract, one schedule, and one team that knows the job from the foundation up. We are a long-established DMV remodeling contractor and

Why Dzala

Why Dzala for your remodel

Most remodeling projects stall because the general contractor is coordinating five subcontractors who have never worked together. Dzala keeps key trades in-house and manages the rest under a single contract — which is how we hold schedules and finish what we start. Free written estimates, licensed and insured.

Frequently asked

Questions clients ask before booking.

Cannot find what you are looking for? Send a question.

How long does a typical kitchen or bathroom remodel take?

A kitchen remodel in the DC area typically runs 6 to 10 weeks from permit approval through final punch-out, depending on scope. A full bathroom remodel is usually 3 to 5 weeks. We provide a written schedule at estimate and update you weekly.

Do you pull permits, or is that my responsibility?

Dzala handles permit applications for all structural, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. We have established relationships with permit offices in Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria, and DC. You do not need to manage this.

Are you licensed to work in both Virginia and Maryland?

Yes. Dzala General Contractor LLC is licensed and insured. We carry general liability and workers compensation insurance, and copies are available on request.

Can you work on a remodel while we stay in the house?

Yes, and we plan for it. For kitchen projects, we establish a temporary kitchen area. For bathroom remodels in multi-bathroom homes, we sequence the work to keep at least one bathroom operational throughout.
