Process

From first conversation to final walk-through — one team, one contract.

Construction in progress on a Dzala General Contractor project
  1. Step 1

    Week 1

    On-site consultation

We come to the property, measure the space, and talk through the scope. No charge, no commitment. Consultations typically run 60 to 90 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Week 1–2

    Written estimate

An itemized written estimate is delivered within five business days of the consultation. The estimate covers labor, materials, permits, and a construction schedule. Nothing starts without your sign-off.

  3. Step 3

    Week 2–4

    Design and permits

Dzala prepares architectural drawings and submits permit applications to the relevant jurisdiction — Fairfax County, Arlington, Montgomery County, or DC DCRA depending on the project location. We manage the back-and-forth with the permit office so you do not have to.

  4. Step 4

    Permit approval through completion

    Construction

In-house crews handle demolition, framing, MEP rough-in, inspections, tile, and finish work under one contract. Weekly progress updates keep you current on the schedule. Change orders are documented and priced before work proceeds.

  5. Step 5

    Final week

    Walk-through and warranty

A final walk-through with the homeowner covers every item on the punch list before we close out. Written warranty terms are documented at project sign-off and manufacturer warranties on specified fixtures are passed through to the homeowner.
